Final custom doggo reprints update!

Hello hoomans, We hope everyone is staying safe and well!

A quick update about our final reprint process, which has been underway for a number of weeks now. At this point, we’ve communicated with every backer who, to our knowledge, needs a reprint or who supplied us with a replacement image for their card.

We’ve done our best getting in touch with every single person on our to-do list, and at this point we’re ready to move this final batch of assorted reprint cards off to the printers. If you have not received your cards and haven’t been in touch with us, please reach out to us by email: [email protected]. We’re ready to get everyone squared away and we’re eager to help locate or reprint your card if needed!

We’d hoped to have this very last batch of stragglers to the printer already, but it turns out this batch is *so small* that our offset printer in Canada can’t affordably accommodate it. This is great news for how successful our last print run was, but it means we’ve had to switch gears to our local printer who can work with small (under 100 units) custom print jobs. We just need to get them caught up on the specifics and reformat some of our press sheets to work with their equipment.

All remaining cards are created, edited, compiled, and ready to go. While we discuss the setup for this print job with our new printer, we’ll give folks a few more days to contact us about missing packages, reprints, etc. We’ll be able to add those into this batch until Monday, August 3rd. We know things are a little overwhelming right now and want to give one last opportunity to get back to us before we call this a wrap!

Custom dog shipping, COVID-19, final printing

Hello hoomans,

We’re delighted that the journey of custom card shipping is coming to a close! Over 900 packages with custom doggos have shipped out around the world, leaving only a handful of shipments remaining.

Those final packages represent:

• Packages headed to countries with shipping restrictions due to COVID-19.
• Backers we’ve communicated with to ask for new dog photos.
• Backers whose packages may have gone missing in the mail, or who need replacement pieces or cards.

Over the past week, we’ve sent around 100 individual communications with clarifying questions, photo requests, and information about final shipments. We’re working one-on-one with this backer group, after which we can get our last ever round of pups off to press.

1. If you haven’t heard from us by now, and haven’t received your custom card(s) or a shipping notification, now is the time to reach out. (Please send an email - see below.) We’ll check up on your card status and will let you know about the next steps. At this point, we have very few unaccounted for orders, and we welcome your questions to make sure every card makes it into this final batch.

2. If you do have a question about your cards, send an email to [email protected]. It’s much easier for us to track these communications by email than Kickstarter messages, and to attach files or photos as we exchange questions back and forth.

Finally, for those receiving replacement doggos or who will be going into the final batch, we ask your patience over the next few weeks as we create the last-ever print run of custom dog cards. We’ve reached out to many people with questions and requests, and we’re still waiting to hear back from a number of backers. While we finalize this last print batch, we want to give backers a fair chance to respond, especially given the additional pressures and communications people may be bogged down with in light of COVID-19.

To those of you who have received your custom doggos: Hooray! Thank you so much for joining us on this journey, and we hope your doggos are saving hoomans from the zombies! We are so happy and grateful to those of you who have shared photos, positive messages with us, and to everyone who has worked with us to help make these cards the best they can be.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you after the last round of shipping is complete!

Custom dog shipping is coming to a close! Hooray!

Hello hoomans,

We’re excited to let you know that shipping is almost complete for every custom dog card!

It’s been a long journey, but we can't think of a better group of people to be on it with! Thank you to everyone for your support, and everyone who has shared pictures and messages as your doggos have arrived.

If you haven't received your cards yet, please sit tight for another week! We'll be sending out emails over the next few days about orders that need extra information or a reprint. If you haven't heard anything about your cards by July, send us an email at [email protected], and we'll take whatever action is needed.

The majority of the remaining cards we have to ship out are international orders, plus a handful of domestic backers. After this, here’s what’s left:

•  A small number of cards we originally weren’t able to process due to incomplete backer surveys or images that require special communication.
•  Reprints for misprinted/damaged cards, or cards lost in the mail. We know COVID has caused shipping delays and that many of you have address updates. We’ll work with you to make sure your cards get to the right place, or to fix any mistakes we may have made.

Reprints and final shipments

We’re glad to report that printing errors/miscuts in this last batch of custom cards are minimal, but for those who are affected, it doesn’t change how it feels for us or you to have to hold back those cards a few more weeks. We’re sorry for that extra wait. Over the next week, we’ll be communicating with backers who need to supply us with new images, or whose cards were damaged or lost, and we’ll send those cards to our printer one last time.

This final batch of shipping is a little tricky. Not only does it involve a lot of one on one backer communication, but because so many cards are arriving around the world, we know there will be additional lost or missing cards, cards that need corrections, and questions. We will do everything in our power to get this final batch of reprint cards to our printer in a timely manner.

Token stands

If you received a custom dog card and requested additional token stands, these have shipped together. If you’re still waiting on token stands for just Unlikely Allies, we will also complete this shipping soon.

A brief custom card shipping update

Hello hoomans,

A quick note to update you on our custom card shipping progress. We’ve already worked through the packing and shipping of many of your cards. Thanks to those who have shared on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter with photos letting us know your cards have arrived safely!

Because we are still taking all COVID precautions, our shipping team is limited to two right now. Your custom cards are not shipping out from a warehouse, but from our homes, so we’re not able to support additional people in our space. This means the work is going more slowly than if we weren’t in a pandemic, but we feel good about our pace and we’re excited to get the rest of these cards out to you!

Address changes

Finally, it is never too late to alert us of address changes. Even if it is too late, and your cards have already gone out, it still isn’t too late. Just let us know and we’ll work with you to get your package to the right place.

We’ll post another update when we’ve reached the end of our shipping! In the meantime, we hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Hello hoomans,

A beacon of good news! All dogs have now arrived to us from our printer. They did a great job communicating with us about COVID-related delays, and we’re so happy to finally have all of your pups in hand.

Two important notes.

1. All print runs have a margin of error. In normal book or game printing, damaged or miscut printings would just be discarded and your game would be replaced with a new identical copy.

But because every one of these cards is unique to you, there have been and are bound to be miscut cards in every batch. There are an average of 5% misprints; so out of the 2000 cards we received, around 100 backers may have cards that need to be reprinted. If your cards are impacted by misprints, we’ll send them back for reprints and will communicate with you promptly.

2. If you’ve moved, let us know.

If you filled out our google survey updating your address, you should be good to go. If you don’t remember filling it out, or you just want to be sure, send us a Kickstarter message with your current address. It only takes a moment for us to double check your address and we want to be sure your pups get to the right place.

Final shipping timeline for remaining custom dogs

We will immediately begin packaging the remaining dogs that just arrived. With the first batch of dogs, we made daily trips to the post office to ship your pups in small batches as quickly as we could. With this final wave, we’ll be making fewer trips, taking larger batches at once. We’ll send out another backer update when we feel like we’ve hit another major shipping milestone, but packing will begin this week, and shipping will begin soon thereafter. This includes folks waiting on token stands, too! If you’re getting custom dogs, expect your extra token stands to come in the same package.
